Aguada Beach Goa

The Aguada Beach is situated in North Goa, Tourists flock towards Aguada Beach, Goa to catch the splendid view that the famous Fort Aguada offers of the sea and the beach. Apart from the fort, there are numerous beautiful churches that are worth visiting.

Fort Aguada is located in this beach. The Fort of Aguada was constructed by the Portuguese to check the access of the enemy into River Mandovi and also to shield old Goa from attacks. From the ramparts of Fort Aguada, the tourists can get a grand view of the golden beaches running exactly up to the boundaries of the Indian state of Maharashtra. At the center of the fort is a spherical lighthouse tower which was built up in the year 1864. If one can manage to reach the top of the lighthouse, then one can catch some excellent view of the Cabo Raj Niwas. The Fort at present is home to the central jail.

Dabolim International Airport is located at a distance of 29 kms from the city of Panaji. Airlines operate on a number of domestic flights to major cities of India. Flights for international destinations are also available.

Margao and Vasco da Gama are the 2 main railheads of Goa. Trains from Mumbai (490 km), Bangalore (430 km), Delhi (1874 km) and several other cities are also available to Goa.

Goa is linked by a good network of roads to rest of the country. Buses of MSRTC and KSRTC run between Panaji, Vasco, Margao and to Bangalore, Belgaum and Pune.
