Baralacha La Pass in Ladakh

Baralacha La in the Zanskar region of Leh Ladakh is one of the highest mountain passes. It connects India's two prominent mountain ranges, Pir Panjal and Zanskar valley, besides the great Himalayan ranges. Located around 73 km from Keylong on the Manali-Leh highway, this high mountain pass meets Chandra, Bhaga, and Yunan rivers at some point.

As the mountain pass is nestled deep at the end of the lower Himalayas in India, it serves as a commencing point to some of the most famous trekking routes in the region. This includes trekking to the highly popular Chandra Tal and Suraj Tal. Looking at the topography of the renowned Baralacha La Pass,

it is advised that one should visit this Himalayan region during the summers. Under this, the months from June to November are best suited for a visit.
