St. Cajetan Church, Goa is also known as The Church of Our Lady of Divine Providence as the main altar in the church is consecrated to it. However, the name of the St. Cajetan Church in Goa is derived from the name of its founder called St. Cajetan who was a contemporary of St Francis Xavier. The specialty of this church is its architectural brilliance. It is designed on the patterns of Basilica of St. Peter in Rome. It is built of laterite blocks. These blocks are coated with lime. Besides, the altar of this church is done very intricately. It boasts of opulent Baroque patterns.
